Hi Everyone,

So here I was in the supermarket doing my normal shopping when suddenly I stopped in the middle of the aisle and realized that everywhere I looked, I saw chocolate bunnies, choc chickens, choc ducks, choc eggs, hot cross buns with fruit, buns with no fruit, buns with choc, plain buns, gluten-free buns, sugar-free buns, gluten-free chocolate and sugar-free chocolate, plates and cups and serviettes and tablecloths with bunnies, hats with ears and etc, etc, etc, !!! Yes! You guessed it! It’s Easter! But I thought…. What about the Cross?  But what about Jesus???

There was no sign or mention of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Of how much HE suffered for our forgiveness of sins and healing of our lifeless bodies! He died to give us life! That’s what we should be celebrating, yet the Truth has been forgotten.

Even many people who go to church on Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday do it just as a tradition, without a real understanding of how Jesus did it all, suffered was treated in such a brutal way just for us!

Do we really understand how our sins were taking us down the path of eternal destruction?

And yet Jesus, the Lamb of God (John 1:29) totally innocent suffered on the cross that was meant for us!

Then the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to my heart “If you cannot forgive others and let go… then you don’t understand how much God has forgiven you and cancelled out your sinful past!”

Wow! Yes Lord I hear you!

Suddenly I heard a “Excuse me”, and I realized I had been standing in the middle of the aisle with people walking past while I was having this little discussion with myself and God!

But it got me thinking, in fact, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. What about you? What does Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross mean to you? Perhaps this Easter time is a good time to forgive and let go as we have been forgiven and make a fresh start to move on to the future blessings that God has for us!

“Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)

“As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then HE broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, Take this and eat it, for this is my body.’ And He took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is MY Blood. It is poured out for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matt 26:26-28)

God bless you all and have a wonderful Easter, enjoy your chocolates and hot cross buns but don’t forget our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
