Hi Everyone,

I was recently listening to a CD when the song ‘I Surrender All’ came on. I began thinking about how many songs we sing without even thinking about what they mean and whether we really mean what we are singing.

You may say ‘I’m saved’. Yes, you may be saved, but have you come to the place where you have surrendered all?

Many sit in Church pews week after week saved, they have made a commitment to Jesus, but not a connection. That comes only when our lives have been surrendered in a way that nothing else is more important that a relationship with JESUS. When He becomes so real in our lives that all we do is out of a love for Him, it’s no longer a task or a burden but just because HE is our first love! (Revelations 2:4) That the things of this world are no longer so important. Money, material things, careers and issues of the heart, e.g. unforgiveness etc., they no longer hold a place in your life when the heart is fully surrendered to your Saviour and Lord, King Jesus.

Read John 21:15-17. Jesus asks Peter if he loves Him. The Amplified says it like this – (vs 16) “Simon, son of John do you love ME (with total devotion and commitment)?"

In 1 Kings 11:4 if says that Solomon’s heart was not totally and completely devoted to the Lord God as his father David. Why? Because he’d married many foreign women which had turned him away from the Lord God. He began looking at other idols that his wives worshiped.

So, what’s that got to do with us?

Well, what are you allowing into your life that may be stopping you from being totally devoted to the Lord God?

I believe the time has come not just for a visitation but an inhabitation, that’s what God wants. With the Rich man in Matthew 19:16-22. His money was too important to him, in fact he didn’t just have the money but the money had him.

He was not willing to give up all, he wanted to follow Jesus but hold on to his life and loves also.

Why is it so difficult for us to give up all for Jesus? Jesus gave up all for us.

Anyone can make a commitment, but not everyone makes the connection with Jesus! That’s what God wants. If we surrender all yield to the Holy Spirit, HE will take us from commitment to connection and intimacy.

So, what about you? Can you surrender all for HIM?

1 John 5:21 says

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts”.
